The Beacon 1-18-18

Greetings, Beacon Families,

We'd once again like to thank you for the flexibility shown this week during the revised schedule due to inclement weather. We hope you enjoyed the time with family and enjoyed watching the snow flurries fall.

As we move forward into next week, I just want to encourage you to remember our Family Fun Night event next Friday hosted by our wonderful Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). We have an awesome Family Fun Night Committee that has been working super hard behind the scenes to make sure the event is a fun experience for our entire school community. Tomorrow is the last day for BINGO card preorders, so please make sure to plan accordingly. We hope to see you there!

Lastly, please join me in congratulating Mrs. Amanda Smith, one of our first grade teachers, and her family on the birth of her son, Judah Wilder Smith, on January 9, 2018. Both mom and baby are doing well! We are also extremely thrilled that our own Ashley Dunavant in Mrs. Benevides' third grade class is officially a graduated "Leukemia Warrior," and celebrated ringing the bell signifying the end of her cancer treatments! We could not be more thankful and excited for Ashley and her family!

As always, let's continue to let our Beacons shine in our words and actions by making sure to use our LIFESKILLS and Lifelong Guidelines. Have a great weekend!
