Greetings, Beacon Families!

We are so excited that the time has come for Family Fun Night tomorrow night! This event is an age old Bookman Road tradition, and I just want to encourage each of you to attend. We have an awesome Family Fun Night Committee that has been working very hard to make sure this event is a fun experience for all of our Bookman Beacons. There will also be a photo opportunity with a VERY special guest that you will not want to miss, so we hope to see you there!

We've had an awesome week of learning new things! Continue to look for ways students can share their new learning at home and in the community,

Have an awesome weekend!

Currently we are studying community helpers. The students went to visit the Columbia Fire Station to learn more about what firefighters and police do. Our students also had the opportunity to dress up and present to the class what community helper they wanted be in the future. Our students really enjoyed learning about community helpers and how they provide services in our local community.

Make sure to order your yearbook by the
deadline listed below!

On Friday, February 2, 2018 we will observe the 100th day of school. We are so thankful for an abundance
of parental involvement and community partnerships, so on this day we are hoping to get 100 “BookMEN”
to visit Bookman Road to be involved in some way. BookMEN can be any influential male figures in the
lives of our Bookman Road students. Your visit may include eating lunch with your student, reading a book
to the class, joining your student during recess, or simply dropping off or picking up your child from school.
Thank you so much for continuing to help us make Bookman Road a great place to be and we look forward
to seeing you February 2nd!
