Greetings, Beacon Families!

As you may know, this is the time of year when many students are particularly excited; partly because we have reached the time of year known to some as the “Season of Giving,” and partly because they know winter break starts tomorrow!

We know that there are various religious and cultural celebrations and observances that take place during this time of year, and the focus of many of those observances centers on giving and helping those less fortunate. One of the great things about the students at Bookman Road Elementary is that for them, the “Season of Giving” is year-round. Our Bookman Road families take joy in giving and helping others.

So far this year our students and staff have donated their time, talents, and gifts to residents of the Wildwood Downs assisted living facility, the American Heart Association Foundation, Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, Toby’s Place for Women and Children. Palmetto Health Walk/Run for Life, and United Way. When we return in 2018, we will continue monthly service projects to help others in surrounding communities and around the world.

Regardless of how your family chooses to spend this winter holiday, please be safe and enjoy the time with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you all on January 3, 2018!

Sincerely,

Dr. Hill
