Message from the Helm

Greetings, Beacon Families!

Did you know that teachers at Bookman Road consider nine key elements when planning lessons for our students? Bookman Road utilizes a school-wide model, the Highly Effective Teaching model (HET), to ensure we provide the very best teaching and learning experiences for our students in ways the brain learns best.
The nine elements that guide instruction are:
Enriched Environment
Meaningful Content
Adequate Time
Immediate Feedback
Absence of Threat

Some more HET Tidbits can be found on the announcement boards on B and D hallways. Feel free to check them out whenever you are visiting. We are excited to continue “developing Beacons who ‘light the way’ in personal character, academics, and community service.” Have a great weekend!

Dr. Kendra Hill, Principal
